Hello all,
I’ve had this printer for 1 week; my first print was perfect, it was the spare spool holder that I printed directly from the SD card that came with it
It generally prints well but I always have a problem with the first layer; it’s like it’s extruding very little material so that the distance that it travels is more than the length of filament extruded and so it drags it across
What could be the cause? I’m printing with PLA
What firmware are you running and what program/slicer?
Firmware 7.4 and Makerware Desktop
Try leveling the build plate. Sounds like your nozzle may be too closr and causing under extrudion.
I just received my glass
I put it on the build plate and I just understood why I can’t print anymore
the build plate is not flat, there is no way I could level it
Did you put a shim on the z axis?? If not then thats the problem. The z axis needs a spacer to hit the endstop sooner to compensate for the thicknes of the glass. Mine is 3mm.
I just mean that I used the glass to measure the flatness of the aluminium build plate
it’s curved (higher on the center) so it’s impossible to level
as soon as I find a way to fix the glass, I’ll put a shim, level it and try again
Mine is the same way. As long as it isnt a lot then it still works i have had my ctc going on 2 years and it prints great even though when i level each corner then move the extruder to the middle it is a good bit tighter.
I think there might be another problem as the extruder makes a clicking noise not extruding enything unless I activate the raft in Makerware
I tried loosening the screws behind the extruder’s fan while charging filament and I noticed that the clicking disappeared, it’s a bit better now, but still not printing properly
How can I increase the current to the motors? I tried removing the bottom cover but didn’t find any pot… where are they?
