Hi, I am new to this forum and to 3D printing.
I was looking to buy my first 3D printer but got quickly confused with all the options out there.
Finally I was looking at 3 different models:
CTC Dual Extruder from Ebay
Anet A8 from GearBest
TEVO Tarantula from Aliexpress
What would you recomend for a beginner? I dont mind doing modifications and to fiddle around with it.
Is the CTC better since it looks like a box, is that much better than open systems?
Thank you and please have patience with me

Hi,
I bought an Anet A8 at GearBest and am delighted. If it is your first printer you will surely make mistakes that will ruin some parts, so it is important that your printer has a large community and that it is easy to find spare parts.
Opensource will help you to learn as you want.

Thank you for your comment. I was almost decided with A8 too but the cost to Slovenia would be extra 80EUR so I started to look for other printers, maybe some shipped from EU.

I was hoping someone would try to explain the difference between Prusa clones and MakerBot clones. If I understand correctly CTC Bizer is a Makerbot clone. Is the extra extruder and more rigid construction worth it? Anet A8 has much larger print capabilities.

Hello Znlda,
The main differences are as below:
1.Open systems 3d printer requires skills on assembling and calibration.
2.Spare parts on open systems always cheaper than box-like one. Cheaper spare parts means lower precision. that’s why box-like more costly.
3.Open systems 3d printer cannot print materials needs higher temp. that’s a restriction.
Highly recommend this one for you. Yite ET-K1 build volume 8x8x8’’
Larger build volume than CTC, comes with many practical functions. Dual extruder optional.
I’m a 3d manufacturer, so if you gonna buy a 3d printer welcome to contact me.
