I have a ctc 3d printer and it has worked perfect for almost 2 months now and suddenly the y axis keeps shutting the printer off and the x axis acts like it doesnt want to move during prints it wont print anything close to what i have it printing and the LCD changes to some weird code i was wondering if anyone knows what i need to do to fix it

Looks like tot might have a bad Y stepper cable. It’s the one that goes to the motor on to the carriage. It runs on the right side inside the printer housing. Swap cables with an extruder cable and verify it’s all good. Try that.

I have been having the same problems and tried your idea of swapping cables and it was still the same “Y” stepper so i presume its the motor. have tried contacting CTC for spare moter cost and am getting no reply. do you know another supplier please?
