Hello everybody. That is my first post on that forum. I hope to get an answer to my question and help in my problem.
Problem description:
Couple days ago i bought CTC dual extruder 3D printer on Ebay. Everythin was ok, until printer just refused to print. A problem is in Heat-bed. In monitor mode printer shows that Heat-bed temperature is from 170-to 200 degrees C (I attached a picture of it). But it is absolutely cold. If i try to turn on preheat mode- nothing happens. it shows 170/60 and thinks that Heat-bed is already hot enough. Printer prints and works fine if i disable Heat-bed- but obviously models wont stick to it, because it is cold. .
My question is: did anybody faced same problem? and what to do? Is it printer bug, or Heat-bed needs to be changed? Also i have a difficulties with CTC support. They provide Skype information on their we page- but nobody answers there. Any suggestions about that.
thanks for your help

Hey,
try to replug the connector on the heated bed.
What i did was, i replaced the teperature sensor with a 100K NTC Resistor and the temperature was more accurate.
What you can also do is update the firmware with the makerware to Version 7.5 (its waaaay better).
Hey.
I already tried to re plug the connector on the heated bed side and on the motherboard side. it did not helped. Printer is already updated to Version 7.5. I didn’t check the resistors on heated bed (maybe one of them is gone)- i just don’t have a multimeter.

thats unfortunate…
What happens if you dont plug it in?
If heat bed is not plugged in:
Printer tells that he has a heating failure. Please check connections.
If i ignore that error and disable heat bed in printer settings- it works and prints like it should.( but without heat bed)

DONT USE MAKERWARE TO UPDATE CTC MACHINES. It’s designed for maker bots seriously download sailfish onto the bot it will make your life so much easier but also I had a problem when replacing the thermistor for my heated bed by plugging In the thermistor to the heated bed connector and it read 150 to 170 then I realised that the bed has a resistor bank on the board and yes replace the thermistor on your bed with a 100k one and that should fix your problem if not you need a new heated bed say the one you got with the printer is faulty and they have to stick to the 1 year guarantee by law and they will send you replacements they sent me 4 nozzles and a bed
Hey and thanks for your answer.
Just one thing, i know maybe it is a stupid question, but… I attached a picture of my Heath bed. Can you tell me exactly what need to be changed.
One more question : how did you connect with CTC support? By Skype or email?

Email them and yes that’s the correct part
Thanks a lot for your answer and help.
Hi there. I am having the same problem. Did replacing the thermistor work?
I managed to get hbp working for a few prints after replacing the firmware to sailfish 7.6 but then it stopped working. And now it shows 137 degrees again on a room temperature and extruder temperature is 27. So it is 110 degrees too much.
I found Heater Calibration Scaling Factor in Makerware Onboard Preferences but it is only possible to change it to a positive value and that makes it just higher temperature on the reading. Scaling factor 100 shows 227 degrees.
I ordered a new thermistor but still waiting to be delivered.
Hi. Sorry for the late replay. Thermistor change didn’t solve the problem at all. I contacted Customer support by email, explained situation to them and sent couple of images to prove the Heated bed fault. They answered in the next day and send new heated bed. Everything took about 4-5 working days. I changed Heat bed and it works OK , a lot of prints done since.
