Can I build an order on my hub and send a link to a customer to review?
I have found many times that I am contacted over other forums about printing a job. I want to be able to build an order on 3Dhubs that they can see and review as a quote.
Is this possible?
Be careful on build an order. Anything you want to cancel or drop is considered a “declined order” and counts against you.
You can upload the STL files to get basic pricing.
I would just point them at your hub with instructions.

I disagree with that statement. Ive had orders where ive accepted them and after a week Ive manually cancelled them when no replies from customer. Those have not shown up on my graph as declined.

I do not think it is. That would be a nice feature. What I currently do is just give the person a quote and point them to my hub page and request that they send an enquiry and then I convert that to order and add the files for them.

Better check because it does for me. I had an order get duplicated by mistake and asked support to delete it and explained what happened. It is now showing as a declined order. I had no way to cancel it without it being considered declined.
This is an issue we have been complaining about. Someone puts up a spam or fake order and even that will be a declined order and counts against you.
It would be an interesting feature. I find that new customers get easily confused by the order setup.
Your method seems more fool proof and a pretty good idea, as I found out recently when the customer entered the order twice because it was confusing to them.

how would 3dhubs get their percentage, then?
The order would still be going through the site. James wants a way to create a quote and send the customer the link that they could then accept and pay for the order.

I am not trying to bypass 3Dhubs. I am asking if there is a way to more easily include 3Dhubs in the quoting process. I WANT to run the business though the website. It adds many desirable features to the sale of 3d printed goods, including legitimacy, and customer confidence.
I want to be able to generate something like an inquiry that shows all the files I would be printing, and a quoted price from my hub. then they could sign on and accept or decline. Like an order in reverse.
