Hi,

Is there any feedback on the Chinese Createbot Max? It has a huge building volume with regard to its price. But it seems as if there is no (not yet) a Createbot community, and as a beginner I am afraid to get stuck somewhere without being able to get any help. I would also like to know the software they’re using…and that kind of questions. Maybe somebody has experience with this 3D printer? Thanks!

We’ve recently added Createbot to our lineup as a reseller for them, as well as having been working with the Createbot Max as our first in-house unit. So far the unit is very robust with an all metal frame and a true ball screw for the Z axis for precision and longevity. The power supply is a hefty MeanWell PSU that gets the large build platform and extruder up to temp quickly, and has shown no issues with 30+ hour prints. The glass platform is held onto the heated PCB with clips, so removing parts is very easy considering the size of the parts that could potentially be build in this enormous 280mm x 250mm x 400mm build volume. They do come with the option to choose between the standard LCD control screen or a color touchscreen model, as well as single/ dual extruder, and heated bed/ non-heated bed options that can be configured allowing you to choose which features you want or need for your printer.

The X and Y axis components are similar to other tried and true setups, which will help with mods that will be cross compatible. The X ends and X carriage look to be very similar to the FlashForge type, so some of the 3D printable mods will surely work well with the Createbot as well. Since we’ve got our first Max setup with the rest of the lineup just arriving this week, we’ll be adding the Createbot printers to our Hub over the next week or so.
