I would like to see a way to send files to a hub outside of official print jobs. I recent came across someone wanting to print a test model that I have and I couldn’t send it to them thru this site other than by sending the file for print like I wanted to pay for it. Also, what if the hub finds an issue with the file or the customer makes a last minute change and needs to re-send the file? It would nice to be able to send files, similar to an e-mail.

I would also like the option to have live chat discussions with someone where the conversation is dynamic and needs to be handled quickly.

Hi Jory,

Thanks for your insights and request. With the help of our flexible cart system both you and your customer can easily change an order up until the order has been paid for. Before that stage you can add and remove models, change the quantity, measurement unit, material, color, etc.

Through the message/enquiry system on 3D Hubs you can also easily send ZIP files as attachments enquiries, this way you can share your models and do some test printing.

We also really like the idea of giving our Hubs chat capability with the customers on the order page directly. We’re not quite there yet and there are a lot of other improvements that are already scheduled for the next coming months but if I receive more of these requests I’ll try to get this chat capability pushed forward.
