I have had my idea builder for a few months now, it has been printing real nice from day 1. About 2 months ago, when I turned on the printer and opened the dremel software, I went to the ‘build’ menu and down to ‘connect’ and it wouldn’t connect, kept saying connection error. I just unplugged it and turned off the machine and it came right. over the coming weeks it got worse and worse sometimes taking upto 12 attempts to connect to the point now it is a mission in itself to establish a connection.

Next issue, just recently on a print, about 5 mins in, there has been an awful clicking/grinding sound, then it stops but the next layer is about 1mm off to the side, ruining the print. I had a good look at all the belts etc, nothing is obviously loose or not doing what it should. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!

I would take it back to where you bought it.

lol, here is the interesting part. I actually won the printer from a Dremel Facebook competition haha. I have been in contact with the support team, turns out they are not very helpful!

I do wonder if the failed print might be related to the USB Connection issues, did you try to print via SD-Card with no USB Connection at all? Does that work?

Not sure about your USB Connection issues. What OS are we talking about? My gut tells me, remove com drivers and software and reinstall fresh from Dremel3d Homepage - but while there’s plenty of gut it aint always right.

Odd that Dremel Support isn’t working out for you, most folks really like the Dremel Support.

Its your Z axis.

its too high, go to the menu, then settings, then the z-axis offset.

change it up not down, so its default is 0.00mm change it up by two up clicks and see if that changes.

I was noticing that I was having issues with a click sounded it only working with a raft. Once I fixed that it worked like a gem.
