Are there any options out there for color 3-D prints that don’t utilize sandstone as a material?

Take a look at this system: http://shop.prusa3d.com/en/3d-printers/59-original-prusa-i3-kit-with-lcd.html?gclid=CKX2ieuZpcgCFUYXHwodZJ0M\_w#video
It is “color by level”, not “color anywhere you want”. But maybe you can work with it.
Some of the sintered plastic systems also include ink jets to color the plastic. These are industrial scale printers, though. I haven’t seen one for home (yet).

Thanks for the link! Would you possibly be able to point me in the right direction of one of these industrial scale printers with ink jets?

If you want full color 3D printing, find someone with a botObjects (BotObjects.com is for sale | HugeDomains) printer or the ProJet 4500 (http://www.3dsystems.com/3d-printers/professional/projet-4500#.UpyRSpRVBM6) (both from 3D Systems). Then there’s something3D (http://www.something3d.com/) with their full color printer.
I can’t find my links to companies that are doing color printing for hire. I know 3D Systems does print for hire, but do not know if they do full color.
