Hi I recently bought a 3d printer nothing fancy a single extrusion from monoprice, it has the wood frame. I am not sure what it is specifically what the equivalent would be and considering that the make and model isn’t even on monoprice anymore I have no idea. So the main problem is clogging I was really stupid during my first spool and ran it down to the last bit during a large print and eventually go around to unclogging it by taking it completely apart and using the tooth pick method to push the left over filament to extrude out. It had worked like a charm but I had ordered a cheaper filament for 17$ I knew it may have been sketchy but I still went with it. It kept clogging so I bought a higher end Hatchbox 1.75mm PLA filament. It worked like a charm until halfway through a statue it had clogged. I used the canola oil trick but what if it keeps clogging what should I do? I notice at the end of the feeding towards the extrude it makes a round small glob and just clogs the printer. Is there a way to prevent this?

It sounds like one of three things, you are running temps slightly to low or way to hot. If your between the rated temps printed on the hatchbox spool you should be fine. Third you might have something still in the nozzle or a small burr on the nozzle hole. The methods below have always proved useful. One other thing to check, make sure the hotend fan is working and that the extruder isn’t getting so hot it premelts the plastic. That can also cause repetetive jams though it’s more rare. There are nozzle drill bits to clean out the nozzle. Overtemping the hotend and pushing out plastic. Nylon cold pulls, which I wouldn’t recommend. And the age old always working method of torching the nozzle, use propane not map gas and a crescent wrench not pliers.
Ok thank you so much I’ll try adjusting the temperature down a little bit to see if that’s the problem but I have no idea how to take the nozzle apart from the rest of it. I have a small fear of breaking it.

Eventually it will need to be replaced or cleaned. The nozzle is basically a brass screw. You should look up nozzle replacement on YouTube so you are familiar with the procedure. Of course don’t attempt it if you are not comfortable and don’t burn yourself on it. It hurts.
