Hello All
I’m new to the forum but have had my DaVinci 1.0 for about 6 months now.
A little over a week ago I had a problem where the feed rollers were making this loud Clicking sound
and at certain points the filament would not come out during a print.
Asked around and it seems that I needed to adjust my bed height.
I did so and afterwards everything seem to flow good.
At this point I started noticing an odd noise, sort of a “creaking” noise while printing which
seems to be coming from the Extruder housing.
Prior to the above the printer was very quiet.
The filament seems to be flowing fine but this noise has me concerned.
Tonight I will be removing the housing and doing a closer inspection.
I read the above link on where the member was having jamming problems
but in my case I am not. Would it still be advisable to look over this?
I guess it couldn’t hurt hmm
I have attached a video for your listening pleasure smile
Thanks much in advance

It’s the freewheel in the feeder. It gets gunk built up behind it so you need to remove the c clip, clean the inside of the wheel, clean the shaft it sits on, grease it and put it back together.

Thank you Sir I will give that a shot this evening

The only thing that i can think of for the creeking noise is that the freewheel has friction on it

Ok so I took things apart when I got home tonight and to my surprise the feeder roller

area was “very clean”. So looking closer I noticed this “free” roller was a tad sloppy.

I removed it and cleaned up the area and applied some light duty silicon grease

to the metal stud as well as inside of the aluminum free roller shaft hole.

While in there I checked all screws, belts, belt rollers and everything seems fine.

I put it back together and did a short test print and it is much more quite and this

“creaking” noise seems to be gone at this point however there is still some rough sounds coming from that area.

Likely because of the play in the free roller on the shaft.

Being a machinist for many years I know over time this will happen again since aluminum will not hold up to steel.

I did a search based on the term “free roller” for the DaVinci 1.0 and I cannot find anything.

I’m sure there are other terms I could use?

Is there a replacement available?

Do you guys have a “go to” supply shop?

I appreciate the help and thanks for getting me closer

I did research on amazon it is call U-groove Guide Wheel. I know this post is old I am having the same problem.
