This past Saturday was a soggy day in Charlotte but the printers were hot. Thank you to the 3D Hubs members who trudged through the rain with printers in tow to MAKE our first meetup.

Planning is underway for the next Charlotte meetup this summer and have received good suggestions for venues. Thanks to @Nikki and crew at 3D Hubs for all the support and encouragement.

Awesome @Bobs !! Any cool print that you guys printed during the event? (Or more likely only started to print)?

Hi Arnold,

Printed Marvins were in production queue for the day. :o)

The hub member who brought the Robo3D printer was having some difficulties printing in ABS. Hub members present jumped in providing support, advice and problem solved. A community working together, what a meetup is all about.

@All, I’ll take this opportunity to introduce myself I’m a totally disabled, wheelchair vet living in Asheville with my wife. My son (living in Mississippi) and I are planning on tossing our hat in the ring and seeing if we can get something going with 3D printing by starting on a very small scale, making various enclosures and parts for his “RC” community. I have placed an order for a Leapfrog Creatr dual extruder and am sure I’ll be crying for help! But as I get better I’ll be repaying that help on down the line!

I’m really sorry I couldn’t make this meetup. It’s going to be hard for me to get to Charlotte but we will hopefully try for the summer meetup - maybe get my son up, stay in a hotel overnight and make some friends.
