Good morning…already used this technology to print rings for vintage disco lights I restore Now I’m stepping to the next project and I want to know if its possible to print these caps…the fit on a base which hokds a indicator tgat tells you when a lamp is broken in a chain of lamps…colour is not important…transparency is…can this be printed Looking forward to your reactions…if possible there is a substantial number of prints involved…I’m member of a community and I know a lot of members search these caps With regards Rico Vrijhoeven Www.vintagediscolights.blogspot.be

If you already have a undamaged cap, then making a silicone mold and cast them in transparent resin would be the most accurate and fastest way to do it,
you can even pigment the resin to any colour you desire
the only problem I can foresee is heat, do these get hot ?
and how do they get attached ?

They dont get hot…never and the attachment is quite simple…they click into a plastic base…next question…where can I find someone who does what your proposing…

You can try to find a local in Maastricht who can do that, or, if you can’t find anybody, contact me on my hub, but I’m in Leiden
can you take some measurements, so we get an idea how big this cap is
and how many you want, and colours.
Also important to mention, your original won’t be destroyed because of the moulding process, you get it back
I might have to attach some small parts for the molding proces.
the silicone copies every tiny detail, so any scratches will also get copied, so best is to use the most pristine one.
If the 3D design can be made, printing won’t be an option. There are multiple 3D printing materials that are transparant. I can even print them for you.
