I bought a CTC Replicator Dual knockoff many years ago and had a few years of good performance from it. One day it took a power surge and it blew the microprocessor on the motherboard. Contacted CTC and got a good, new, motherboard on the 4th attempt. Got it installed, nothing shows up on the LCD, it plays the start up sound and you can see the lights turn on on the board and if you try to start a print from the computer only one of the extruders will heat up and it will not actually print anything. When I connect it to my computer and the MakerWare software it connects, recognizes what it is and at least attempts the upload process. I have tried for days and cannot get it to work. Unfortunately I have no way of being certain as to what motherboard it is since it has no writing on it so I am just going with the motherboard that is used in the replicator dual. I am including pictures so if anyone might be able to identify the type of motherboard that would be amazing. Any suggestions on how to get it going or what might be wrong with it please let me know. Oh and please know I am a beginner when it comes to programming so please dumb it down if I need to do any.

Hi,

If no-one else is able to help out by then, I also have one of these printers, 2 year old model and I also have to do maintenance on the mainboard fan, which means I will have to remove the bottom plate and fiddle around in there.

That said, my printer is working properly, in the past I’ve already added an extra connector for the extra fan near the extruder head, in order to cool PLA prints, but other than that it is the stock assembly and board, so I will take some pictures and that will hopefully help you.

Also, It worked fine using the stock firmware, however I ended up upgrading it to the sailfish firmware, which went ok too.

The board is called a Mighty board and is likely to be a 1280 version but could possibly be 2560 edition, try looking up replicatorG or the other firmware manipulation software for the board. GENUINE MAKERBOT SOFTWARE WILL NOT WORK AND COULD BRICK YOUR MAINBOARD!
