I have some projects coming up that require the use of an endmill, and I need to create a number of simple holes as well. Can I use the same bit in order to save time?

I wouldn’t really recommend it, endmills aren’t made for creating holes in this way. I’ve heard of some machinists doing this with endmills that are rated for center cutting, though I haven’t done this personally and would just recommend changing tools.

Sure you can. Softer materials being better and it may wear down your endmills sooner than later but it’s just like doing a really long plunge cut
