Are there any guides on calibrating a printer with Astroprint? Ideally I’d love a pictorial guide that says “Print this. If it looks like [Picture A], adjust [Setting A], …”…

No chance something like that exists?

If it helps, this calibration file I’ve printed turned out like this. Trying to ‘calibrate’ myself on what I should be tweaking.

Do you have a fan on the left of your extruder? if not, do you have the active cooling add on? If not, that’s where you have to start.

You might want to take a look at this: Print Quality Guide | Simplify3D Software

This particular guide is for simplify 3D software, however, if your print looks like something in the picture, it tells you the setting to adjust. This might be useful, I would try it out, because ultimately all software will get you GCode, which is universal.

Hey Jeremy:

I have fans on both my extruders - are you saying I should have a third one that’s on the box itself, blowing at the build plate? That I do not have.

And the ‘active cooling add on’ - is that hardware, or a software thing for astroprint I should know more about?

I’ve attached some pictures of where I’m at after having levelled the bed again. Any pointers would be appreciated - I’ll go check out your link in the meantime.

You’ll need some m3 screws from home depot to put it in, if my memory serves me, m3-50mm is the correct size. The adaptter is avaialble on ebay, i bought 10 for $10, but I have more than one flash forge. Someone sells kits on ebay pretty cheap too.

when I did this to my printers, I uses a lighter to soften the plastic near the mounting points so I could position the blower better, really helped getting it into the best position.
