Hey!

I wanted to start a meetup in Brussels around 3D Printing. If you’re interested, have a look at the meetup.

As I am quite new myself in 3D Printing, I still am having problems that sometimes are quite difficult to fix myself. I built two 3D printers, but want to perfect them as well :slight_smile: I am sure that there are many 3D Printers who experience some problems themselves, but also who have great experience in printing. Maybe it’s good to bring them together and learn from each-other?..

Hey Stephanel! Nice to hear from you. This is definitely what brings people to meetup: get together and share hints and tips. I’m sure there are makers as you, who are willing to participate. Who’s up for getting together soon in Brussels?

Thanks for your replies! :slight_smile: Glad to hear that you like the idea! I never organized a meetup, so we’ll start small :slight_smile: As you say, it’s about learning and sharing experience! I struggled already some time with building and perfecting my 3D Printer, and would love to share that experience, so hopefully the next one can do it in less time!

I will be joining the Startup Weekend Makers edition in May, so maybe we’ll meet there already! I will definitely look for enthusiasts there as well!

If you want to keep updated on the meetup, subscribe to it, and you can make up your mind later if you wanna meet!

I’m building a delta myself, and yes, a meetup would be cool, I suggested using my loft a while ago, then it hanged there, probably because we where all too busy!

There should be enough room for anything you’d like to bring, including your 3d printers. Think I could host it on the 5th may if u want. We could also start the hoven and cook some junk food in it while getting our hands into ramps and alike :slight_smile:

You can subscribe to the meetup, then we can see who is coming! My place would also work but maybe yours is more suited (bigger) :slight_smile:

I will keep the meeting then on May 5th. Worse case it’s a first meeting to define the path forward!

If anybody is going to the Startup Weekend event as suggested by @Marie_Laenen, I will also try to convince people to join our little meetup group :slight_smile: The more the marrier! That way we can all learn and hopefully make great projects and products with our 3D Printers soon!

If you want we can create an event on 3D Hubs for your meetup, than we can promote it to the Brussels Community.

The only thing I need is:
- A location
- Time & date
- A short story about the meetup

We would like to do a meetup with 3D Printer enthusiasts! Let’s learn from each-other and try to solve the many small hurdles you experience when tinkering with a 3D Printer!

This meetup would interest:

- Newbies in 3D Printing, looking to see what’s it all about

- Those who bought a printer, but still need to fine-tune it

- Those who want to build a 3D Printer by themselves (kit or from scratch)

- To showcase what you have built and/or share experiences

- Meet other makers!

Experience level is not required, only interest in these little machines and meeting people!

Sorry for my very late responds, truly sorry. I didn’t receive any notifications about your mentions towards me, still I should had to take a look.

Just got of the phone with @ImShogun and I heard there are 6 spots left, which is great news, but to less to make an event for it. The next time you can email me directly for making a 3D Hubs event.

Thanks Barry! No problem! This is the first meetup. I intend of doing more than one and hope to help people with it a bit :slight_smile:

Knowing meetup, the rate of people actually attending the event always is a bit lower than who subscribed. Should not be a problem if there are a bit more people subscribing than 16…

Good intentions! @ImShogun prefered a smaller group and for only +/-10 people is it a bit to little to create an event, don’t you think so?

@barry, @stephanel, I certainly do not want to set any fence against the success of the event. Let’s be clear. I’ve had parties with 40 persons and everybody always find a clear spot to hang. There is a huge terrasse on the roof also, I was more concerned about seats for people working on their laptops, but If you feel it should not be a stopper, then feel free to open 20 more spots, lets get crazy :slight_smile:

@imshogun, fantastic! I have upgraded the max to 40 in the meeting. Probably it’s a bit late to have a big extra number of ppl coming, but we’ll see on Tuesday :slight_smile:
