I have tried many different brands of black PLA and ABS but all have at some point clogged my nozzles. No matter what temp I use or retraction or speed. it is always the same. The funny thing is that it only happens with black filaments. Anyone else out there has had this problem?

Nope

After how long? did you measure the amount of extruded filament? colorants are just 4% of the total weight and wont affect the extrusion process, so it doesn’t matter if it’s white or black. Try a stainless steel nozzle with passive cooling, no fan, there shouldn’t be any problem.

The only jamming/stripping troubles I’ve had was, near the end of a roll of filament, where the filament was just a bit squished on the roll.

It looked like an oval instead of being round.

When measured, it was 3.2mm wide in one direction and 2.5mm or so, in the other.

My printer uses 3mm filament and this condition would not feed into the extruder properly.

I threw away the bad filament which was about 100grams or so.
