Black ABS will not melt in my Duplicator i3 Blue works just fine. Any ideas?

Hi Ray,

Are the two filaments from the same company and the same spec? If they are not then it may be that the required heat for the black ABS is higher than the blue filament. If they are the same then it could have something to do with the chemicals in it which makes the properties slightly different, so again different levels of heat is needed. Some times it may be a faulty filament so it may be best to ask the supplier or support team if you do not get a decent reply on this site.

The part numbers are consecutive and the SN are close. Oh well I will get in touch with Ultimate 3D printer store and see if they can help.

I gave it another try and guess what - - worked like a charm. Replacing a filament has a learning curve
