Hello again! Another question to throw at all you experts out there/on here. I have three 3d printers now, I am setting them all up to run off of 3d printer OS, and am looking for a cheap but good quality web cam that I can use. Preferably no microphones. I’ve been searching a lot on the internet but it’s very hard to tell if a camera is cheap but poor quality, or if it will be good for what I need to do. I was hoping someone would have a brand that they could recommend from personal experience! Thanks again for everyone’s input

I use the $30 Logitech 720p webcam (C series?) that is on Amazon. Both of my printers have one, and they’ve been wonderful.

Logitech C310? I have one too, on my 3d scanner, decent camera.
I’d personally go for a H.264 720p IP camera, they’re not that expensive anymore, they operate stand-alone, often have built in pan-tilt (so you just need one), and you can connect them to the internet so you can look at them from anywhere.
Just make sure you don’t get a non-H.264 mjpeg camera, as they use lots more bandwith, or a camera that says “HD” but has a potato-resolution image sensor inside thats being upscaled by software.

I have been using the Webcam called Dropcam from dropcam.com for a few years now. We have used to monitor milling and 3d printing, family inside and out. Excellant system, when they say plug and play, it’s plug n play. I know about 29 people using the system. It’s a Web application with apps for all phone types. Can’t say enough good…

I think that camera is overkill for monitoring a 4D printer. I think it should be possible to do adequately for <£15.

Don’t they require a computer in order to run? I think an ideal solution would include it’s own CPU and make the steam available over IP.
I saw this mini usb camera attached 3D printer,Amazing !
