Hi, Looking for a 3D Printer to print stainless steel and peek plastic. Is it possible for one printer to both or would I have to buy separate?
Hi there,
What are you looking to accomplish with this printer? Functional stainless steel isn’t really something you can print on an FDM style printer unless it’s for aesthetic purposes, like jewelry or art. To “print” true stainless steel you need a DMLS style printer, which start at $50,000 USD.
PEEK plastic can be printed on an FDM printer (check out Indamatec’s filament); you can either purchase a professional machine or upgrade a consumer machine to an all metal hot-end to support the temperatures required to print PEEK. All of this will be dependent on your budget for the machine.
