I have a CTC printer which has 4 knobs for levelling the build plate; it doesn’t make any sense unless you want to apply some stress and bend the plastic platform
I have removed one of the springs and it’s much better now; the platform looks better and levelling is more robust now
I was just wondering what other printers use, 3 knobs seems the right number to me for obvious geometrical reasons

Yes, many printers have gone to the 3 screw setup. For those with 4 screws, I always tell folks to just remove one. A three legged stool always sits flat, a 4 legged stool sometimes does not!

Can you post a picture of the printer bed? I assume you moved one of the spring loaded screws to the front or back center fo the print bed?
No, just removed one (front left, as the nut thread was worn already)
I now need to set up Simplify3D to move the print head to the location of those screws instead of in between them, so I can adjust one screw at the time and they should be independent from each other for a quicker and error free levelling
also planning to use a depth gouge mounted on the carriage

So if I remove the spring from the front left (As an example) what do you use to hold the build plate in place on that side? A picture would help.
The spring on the opposite side will keep it in place
