I have a Da Vinci Pro printer with a heated bed. I can’t print on the bed directly without the special tape (expensive) from xyzprinting. I tried glue, hairspray etc and nothing would stick. After eating some pancakes and pooring all caramel syrup ( “pannekoeken stroop” in dutch) on the pancakes i decided to use the syrup on the printbed. The cool thing is that the syrup is sticky right away, but when heated it sticks just more. I tested it with several prints using ABS and i’m very happy with the results. Cleaning afterwords is very easy with a wet piece of cloth.

Just an experience i wanted to share…

That’s pretty cool! I bet the guys over at Proto-Pasta would love to hear about this as they like putting food and spices in their filament.

Wow, this is the best post of the week.

Whats funny is that I have often read the some folks describe the smell of hot PLA as smelling like waffles.

I get this sweet smell every time I print with my Prusa PLA (which I think is 4043D) but I get little to no smell when printing with eSun PLA+ which is the newer type of PLA (8XXX I believe).

I use the tape on my ALUNAR 3D printer M508, it is easy to paste, and easy to remove the printing items.

It is quite good so far. By the way, i used PLA 3D filament most of the time.

I bought the tape directly from ALUNAR factory, they offered factory price for me.Not bad for using it.

But one advice:

you can use glass as heat bed, then you use the glue to stick the printing items.

check the right size glass, same or a little smaller than your heat bed in Amazon, and use glue to paste the printing items.

some friends said they use the glue, but i didn’t try till now.

Best regards

attached my 3D printing work: 3D rose, is it beautiful?

I may have to try that, what temp are you running your bed

Hi,

My printbed is at 90 degrees. It sticks very wel. This morning another print was finished and i even had dificulties getting it off the aluminum bed because the bed had cooled down. But cleaning went still easy with a wet piece of cloth. My room has a very sweet caramel smell while printing

hi I am using good old CLAG PASTE works really nice when the bed cools down to about 70c it just falls off but when it hot very hard to move the print … I am using a xyz Da Vinci 1.0 but I am running Repetier 0.92 and a EDV6 J head hope this helps.
