Howdy Chris - what’s up? Plenty of 3D printing stuff going on at Georgia Tech!

More and more printing for me, you?

Any 3d printing events, lectures, etc. happening at tech that are open to the public?

I know us at KSU don’t have anything related to 3d printing going on.

Well we are wrapping up a semester so things will slow down for a while - but there is lots going on. There is a campus wide maker space that is free to students and they have lots of 3D printing going on. I’m in the School of Industrial Design and we are making models everyday and have printers in classrooms now. We even have a 3D scanning lab that we just opened to scan human forms to design around. Come visit - you can sit in on one of my studios or talk to the students if you are interested in what is going on.

Definitely interested in your offer. Its interesting how different studio cultures are between schools. As student at KSU and seeing how the Architecture Department pushed 3d printing I’m interested in how Tech uses it.

Sure - you can visit the school now through the weekend there is a show going on called OpenStudio that is basically lots and lots of Design work displayed in the studios. Plenty of examples of 3D printing use throughout. If you want to visit a studio course unfortunately they don’t start again until the fall. Please feel free to email me to set something up though.
