Hi everyone, I signed up recently and sent off my first design for printing. I’m currently a student and consider myself to be a fairly good with CAD software (mainly autodesk), unfortunately I’m lacking ideas for things to design, I was wondering if anyone needs anything designed which they could get printed themselves OR could you point me in the right direction? Looking to build up a portfolio of designs eventually and possibly make a bit of extra money :P.
Thanks!!

The best way is to start looking around you, and see what stuff you use every day, and think about changing the design,
not just to make it better, but to make it look different.
look at the object, how it is used, and what would be possible

As a student you can sign up for the student program under the “3D PRINT” tab at the top of your screen and get 25% off your orders if you haven’t already.
For the designs just think simple, what can I use on a daily basis, key chains, key rack etc. Think larger, lighting, door handles etc.
What you could also do and what I do when I am looking for something is go on thingiverse or yeggi and find something that you are interested in, look how it was designed and either make it better by redesigning it or take it as inspiration to make something new.
Now that you know my secrets, have fun!

Thanks for the help, thingiverse is incredible, can’t believe I hadn’t heard of it before!
