So it just occurred to me that someone /something (hopefully not a spam bot) is creating fake accounts on 3DHubs and placing orders on my hub using identical STL models and only changing their users name. bellow are the images of models being submitted where the customer claims to have downloaded on some online website. and this user/s has repeated the fake orders a total of 4 times within the past 2 weeks, and twice today. Is anyone else getting this or similar behavior? I’ve contacted support but suspect there’s a bigger issue here.

You just canceled my order, I am a legit person trying to buy some parts.
I created this account to place this order, and it was the first time I have used this service.

Hi Tyson. I’m glad you are real and decided to reply to this post. Would you care to elaborate why you keep placing the same order under a different name and cancelling or not replying to my inquiries? Please feel free to send me a private message. Thanks ahead.
The model is real. I did one of these some time back and it was from a magazine article for a hand held game console. It was kind of a fun print. I did a couple sets of buttons (at no extra cost) in different colors for the guy so he could switch them out.
Thanks for chiming in. I agree the models are real and wasn’t suggesting they are imaginary. I’m still confused by 1 thing: why create multiple user accounts with different names? It just seemed unusual to me and set off a red flag.
I created one account. The one i sybmitted the order with, and am using now. Also, i have never created any other accounts on this site ir any other printing site. I think you are confused. I just hope you dont handel all orders from new cutomers this way.

Yea, I didn’t think you thought it was not real but just confirming it really was in a magazine as a project and they supplied the files. Kind of a cool project.
Yes these models are for an adafruit raspberrt pi grrl game console. The models are available from thier website. The download page recommends using 3dhubs to print the pieces if you cannot print them yourself. I bought thier kit for my son so he could build it. The kit dosent include the 3d printable parts. I was going to print them my self on my own 3d printer. But once we got to putting it together i realized the buttons need to be printed with flexible filiment. I do not have this filiment as my printer is pla only. Maybee adafruit has alot of window shoppers… But i was not one of them.
I printed the buttons in a few different translucent PLA colors. Made for cool looking buttons.
Don’t know why you would need flexible unless it is just a preference.
@Tyson_10 We would be happy to print the parts for you if you can’t order from him. Email us at support@jmotechnology.com or submit an order. Thanks.
Hi Tyson,
I don’t typically handle orders this way and admit this mistake is on my part given your particular situation. In my hub order panel it shows “account deleted” for multiple orders for this very same model set. 3dhubs doesn’t indicate where this order came from. The fact that many people place/cancelled/ and deleted their 3dhubs accounts while not responding to my inquiries caused me to think there was something wrong. I think 3dhubs should add mechanisms to indicate to hub owners that people are simply ordering from third party websites. Otherwise I’m pretty sure I won’t be the last one to misunderstand this behavior.
Regards.
