Hi All,
I was wondering if there was a hub that could 3D print Nylon at a best possible resolution ?
I’m looking to print some of my parts for use in my research. And the minute features on the face of the device demands a high resolution.
Any hub representatives, please feel free to contact with their achievable values in terms of :
1) z scale resolution
2) x,y - resolution
About how big is the piece? I can do 50micron on my Lulzbot and have nylon in stock. I dont have that layer height listed since its harder to print.
My hub is located in the USA though, not sure where you are.

The part volume is 4.18 cc and the dimensions being (X x Y x Z) = (3.3 x 5 x 0.45) cm.
I’m a student at McMaster University, Canada. I have tried a MJM tech 30 micron resolution at our campus (though not nylon), it didnot give a satisfactory output.
But, I haven’t had any experience with Lulzbot before.
Can you share the pictures of a part having several fine features on it, printed at 50 micron res. at your printer ?
I dont think mine will look any better at 50 compared to the 30. Have you thought about shapeways, they have nylon and can do fine resolution.

I havn’t tried them yet. Thanks for the info
Hi,
Could print them in Alloy 910 (Nylon variant) using a 0.3 mm nozzle.
Layer height (z) of 100 microns and any features on XY would need to have 0.40mm of minimum width.
Basically, this is the minimum width of material the nozzle can deposit in one extrusion movement .
Also, any engraving/embossing on part would have to respect this measure.
I could also produce a small test print if you wish to have some pictures of the detailed features before ordering.
We are located in Montreal.
Do not hesitate to contact me if there is anything I can do,
Best,

hi,
Thank you for your response.
My design has minute 0.2 mm/0.2mm conical features on its face. So, i guess it would require a better xy resolution.
