Looking for a designer to help me move my feet into the 3D world… I’m a Nurse, not a tech person. There has to be a way to tag my feet like they do with green screens or something to get an accurate depiction of my feet, right? Please tell me there is another way to 3D printing my feet than designing them on tinkercad…

Hey NurseLizzy, Designing high resolution or high quality models of human body parts can often be difficult to achieve. It would require a lot of photographs and potentially hours of work. I’m not sure how you would locate someone to do this but there are people who have high grade 3D scanners. An ‘ex-architect’ became a shoe designer after being able to scan feet and personalise shoes. I’d advice looking for someone who has a 3D scanner of this type. Some 3D scanners are for objects only, so I’m not sure how you’ll find one. Try searching for printers with the ‘3D Print’ icon at the top. In the filters click 3D scan and search around asking if each hub can help you out with what you need. Just explain what you need help with and they should be able to tell you if they can or can’t. If that’s ineffective just search online and see what you find. I believe scanning is the best option here. Hope this helps

Thank you. I have lots of pics. That part shouldn’t be an issue @sugar_toes on IG.

Knew there had to be a name for those 3D scanners lol. So now I have to check those out. Any particular brand you recommend?

I can’t really say I can recommend any scanners as there are a lot of them and I have little experience with them.

Just look out for 3D scan services.

I would recommend that you make a list of some people who have scanners and jot down price, distance away from you and the scanner type. Then once you’ve got a decent list, possibly 5 or so, research the type of scanner for reliability and quality. Then using your list you can compare price, location and quality to find the idea scanning service.

I would like to print my feet and cannot do that without a scan of them. My feet are amazing…

Nurse Lizzy, I’ve scanned and printed people before (hands, head & shoulders). I love your idea & I’d be happy to help. I use a handheld scanner (portable) & I’m in Pendleton, NY. I know this is an older post, but please reply if you’re still interested in bringing your feet into the digital world. Andy
