Hi I was hoping to have a go at 3D printing as a useful tool to make parts for model RC aircraft Being on a tight budget I bought an A8 all appeared OK till I initiated a test print and found that the filament wasn’t being fed buy the extruder stepper motor.

I tested the motor and cable by connecting it to an Axis output and it worked fine so not the motor or connecting cable then.

So I think it must be the board possibly a hardware fault, the board has a usb connector on it so I thought maybe there is a fault code that I would see on the computer or perhaps it just need the firmware reloading.

I see on the internet that other users of this model are indeed using their computers to operate the m/c instead of the control panel and an sd card but when I connect it to my PC there is no interaction with the board at all?

to add insult to injury I ordered a replacement board which when it arrived I found it was for a different model the A6 which on the face of it looks OK but the A6 uses a different control interface utilising a rotory knob to access the menus again if I could access the board via my pc I could possibly get my m/c to print something.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Phil

I have been looking into getting an a8 aswell and i believe the anet software is standalone, to connect to a pc i believe you need to upgrade it to a skynet software Facebook
