Hi, my hollow M6 screw (That connects the hotend to the extruder) broke during th eprinter’s assembly. I’m looking for a replacement, and I’m finding this screw in all kinds of different lengths.
Which length do I need? (Stock extruder, Anet A8)

30mm M6 throat. Or you can buy the whole hotend assembly.

Or you can measure the broken one

I can’t, for some reason, the half that stayed in the hotend is now stuck in it and I can’t get it to screw out. (The half that was in the extruder came out just fine.)

Do you happen to know if a 26mm one will do?

It will work too, but you might need to re-design filament cooling fan duct since the nozzle will be 4mm shorter. You will also need an aluminum heating block, because the broken throat stuck in the block. Any of the v5 or v6 block will work too. Probably better for you to buy the entire hotend assembly like this one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/202024619746

There is a little room inside of extruder, that you can probably lower the 26mm throat by 2mm or more. If you do lower the throat inside of extruder, you might have even more difficult time to change filament without removing the extruder cooling fan.

With the threaded tube and hotend together it is approximately 43 mm long. Look up 12v hotend on amazon the cheap 10 dollar one is the correct size an is the ones i used on my A8 before i upgraded to a titan extruder and a v6 hotend.
