Hi all. Just built my new Anet A8, I am having trouble getting the hot end to heat up. My first print worked pretty well. But while trying to preheat PLA for the 2nd print. The tempreture for the hot end goes up and down, but only upward of about 5 degrees C above room temp and fluctuates around there. The fact that it goes up at all implies ( to me anyway ) that its not completely broken. Could it be a loose wire inside the hot end ( as it tries to heat up, i move the wire slightly and seems to make a slight difference )? Im capable and willing to try anything, but as this is my first 3d printer, im still learning. If anyone has any ideas or comments, it would be greatly appreciated.

I’m having the same exact issue (though I still have yet to print on it).

The hot bed heats up just fine, but the extruder only goes up about 0.1 degree every couple of minutes - which I assume is only due to the heat from the hot bed.

Hopefuly someone can enlighten us on the issue

The problem is most likely the cooling fan blowing directly on the hot end
