Someone from 3dHubs advise please: We are trying to add some new materials which dont currently exist in the dropdown list on the Edit Hub, My Printers page. The ‘+Add’ button remains stubbornly disabled, not allowing us to list the new material. We have tried in Firefox and Chrome, same deal.

Whats the deal… can we not add new materials to this list?

Hi there!

Thanks for your message. Have you tried typing the material you would like to add to your printer first, then select it, before clicking the ‘+add’ button?

If you want to add a material which is not available in the list yet, please let me know the details of the material you want to add and I will add them for you.

Odd… yes, thats what Im doing (although Im not sure how else it would be done…)

Does it work for you?

Initially we would like to add Aluminium PLA but I foresee needing to add a few more, so really I’d like to know if this is a bug your end (and therefore likely to be fixed) or if its something that should be working for me now but isnt for whatever reason (then I know I have to find the reason this end…)

Thanks for your reply, Aluminium PLA is not yet available, could you give me the details of the material (and the others you would like to add, which are unavailable), so I can add them to the platform.

Thanks. So just to be clear, this is expected behaviour, is that correct? In other words, its not a bug and new materials can NOT be added to that list by Hubs directly? Just want to be clear on this, because if it should be working (and is working for others) then I will continue to troubleshoot this end. There are so many new filaments coming out all the time now (Ive received another weird & wonderful one since this conversation started!) so asking every time that we need to add a new material seems unnecessarily cumbersome…

It would be good to know whether this should be working from here or not…??

In lieu of a definitive answer on this, please add “PLA Aluminium” and “UV Light Change”.

It is no bug that you cannot add the materials, I will add them for you. They should be visible soon.

Hi,

Hate to keep on, but it has been 6 days now… any chance of getting new materials added to the list? At the moment, we aren’t able to advertise all the materials that we have available.

Hey Dominic,

I still dont see them. Am I missing something here? Seems I am going about it the right way (trying myself, asking for help, politely waiting a while then asking again…) but not getting anywhere.

Do I take it 3DHubs doesnt want us to add new materials to this list, period?
