Been getting back into geocaching again, and Love what people put in the large boxes. I didn’t know what I could put in them so I took some test prints of Marvin with me for starters.
This got me thinking what cool thinks could you print to put in the boxes? Maybe some kind of personalized object so people know it’s you?
Also this could work the other way round too. I found one that had a puzzle to open it so a printed puzzle that hides a mystery item would be cool. Like Labyrinth Gift Box by sneakypoo - Thingiverse
I guess with 3D printing the possibility are endless. Will be interesting to see what you think.

I like the idea, but have never experimented with this. Sounds pretty cool though! How exactly are other people using it?
My girlfriend and I enjoy geocaching as well and as the owner of two LulzBot machines, we thought it was essential to combine the two. We often find small caches (the size of a small clip-lock or tupperware container), so what we’ve done is design and print a bunch of small keyrings with our little owl design which we like to leave in the caches. The green and red ones are made using ColorFabb PLA-PHA (intense green and traffic red) and the orange ones are made using HIPS.

They are very cool. Was just what I was thinking. Looks like I need to get designing now.
Definitely, I can’t wait to see what you come up with! And maybe we’ll cross geocaching paths one day and find each others’ items!
So far, I’ve not seen anything else 3D printed in a cache, but it’s early days for us, as we’ve only recently started geocaching.
If you decide to go down the keyring route, you can pick up the small split rings in bulk from various eBay sellers, usually a couple of hundred for only £2-3ish. I went for 12mm ones and matched the internal cavity in the design to a hoop of that size.
