Hi, this is a Q for the 3D Hubs staff. Would it be possible to allow hubs to list at multiple locations?

I’m a hub, and orders are coming in - all is good…

However, I can list my hub at only one location. During the course of a day, I am usually in several places (home, work in two locations, etc, about 50km apart), and am able to allow customers to pick up from each of these places. Would it be possible to list multiple locations for a single hub, to expand the reach of the hub, and offer more convenient pickup options for customers further away? My thinking is that customers don’t really care WHERE the print was made, just that they can collect it quickly at a place convenient to them.

Adding the possibility to list collection points in, say, 3 different locations (and for the hub to appear in searches in those locations) would improve customer convenience, and the reach of each hub.

What do other people think?

Tom

Hi @3DSmith,

Jep, I can see where you’re coming from. This, together with having multiple Hubs under one account, is an often requested feature. However, this is also one that is notoriously hard (expensive) to build as it requires change in our core website architecture.

So, for now, I fear the only thing I can tell you is that it is on our radar but will most likely not be build any time in the next few weeks. Hope that at leasts answers your question for now.

Cheers,

Filemon

Hi @Filemon,

Thanks for the reply - I’m pleased not to be the only person who’s suggested this, and also pleased it’s on your radar. In the meantime, I’ll keep printing!

Wouldn’t it be possible to set up new hubs that reffer to the main hub.

I’m in the same situation as @SmithRapid and in my oppinion that would be the easiest.

Basically given a customer looks for nearby hubs then (in this example) my 2nd hub shows up with all the content and reviews as my main hub. Once the customer clicks on the hub he will be lead to the main hub with a notification that the selected hub is a subsequent hub of the hub owner.

To realize this the 3dHubs staff would “just” have to allow us to set up a 2nd or even more hubs which just work as ref-links to our main hub. Secondly the hub’s content (ratings, materials, everything that can be seen when you’re comparing local hubs) has to be copied to the subsequent hub.

I’m far from being an expert on this topic, but I guess that’ll be the most convenient and most economic solution.

Additionally this solution has the advantage, that the hub owner just has to care about his main hub and he won’t recieve orders on multiple accounts and emails.

Thanks Marius, I’ll let them know about your suggestion

Hello,

I’m also in the same situation and It will be awesome if we can set multiple locations for the same hub or, at default, linking two account to benefit of the main hub reviews and settings.

Great job otherwise !
