In going to be investing in a 3D printer but where to begin! I’ve been searching printers (budget of £1000 very tops!) But there is so much choice. Originally I’d thought the Da Vinci with scanner (1.0s) was the one but then proprietary filament cartridges and software etc. Put me off. Is second hand a wise investment? There is a second hand Ultimaker on eBay for £500 that looks decent (has upgrades as well). I can also get a Wanhao Duplicator 5S Mini for £745 which has the 20 micron layer thickness or the Flashforge Creator Pro for £800. There is also the Winbo Mini Multimaker which does 60 micron (not read any reviews on this?) Finally I can get a Wanhao Duplicator i3 for just over £300 which reviews well. I want a 3D printer because they’re cool as hell but also as a business venture so need a good finish (hence the low micron, minimises finishing)

Hi @Craig_11, true, 3D printers are cool as hell  but you’re also embarking on quite an adventure here! Feel free to check out the 3D Printer Guide we put together based on the review and experiences of over 5300 printer owners. basically it’s as comprehensive as it can get at the moment.

Otherwise, feel free to browse the forum to read first hand experiences in the dedicated communities of FlashForge, Wanhao or DaVinci.

Hope this helps! And good luck with setting up your 3D printing business. Cheers

Yeah I’ve looked at a lot over the past few weeks but personal experience and similar requirements in terms of the work and finish etc.
