Figure I would see if any other hubs or people want to a Coventry 3d printer user meet up. Bring prints or not and have a chat. Let me know if there is any interest.

Cheers,

Hilary

Hi Hilary! How are you? I’m Camille, I’m part of the UK Community Support team at 3D Hubs! I think it’d be really nice to organize a 3D printing meetup in Coventry! How would you like to schedule a skype call next week to talk about it?

Sure if you want send me a message we can set something up.

So I am open to anyone that is into 3d printing, 3d modeling to meet up. So a weekend idea has been put out there. Any other idea for places and time of day? I am located in the center of Coventry but my office is pretty small. Maybe a coffee shop or something close to transport and parking for people. I could check with Esquires at the transport museum and see if they would be willing. There is parking near there and all the buses stop near there. Thoughts? Would love from some people from Coventry makerspace to come along if they want. I stopped by before but they are on the other side of Coventry from me. Figure this can be just a meetup and maybe show prints ask questions and so on.

Cheers,

Hilary

Any one intrested in doing a weekend 3d printer meet up in town? Is public transport important or not? What about parking?

Nice Hilary! It would be really nice to see the first West Midlands meetup! I’m sure there’s a lot we can do, anyone have a venue in mind?

Coventry Makerspace have offered to run a number of hosted events with lectures, food etc for anyone interested in 3D printing. I have organised this twice already but the churn on 3DHubs staff is large. We have also requested to be the local amabssador, hand of discount leaflets, bring our University contacts along.

Really unimpressed with the support that 3DHubs gives its community. Good luck Hillary, hope you don’t get let down like we have.

Hi @Community my name is Camille I’m part of the Community Support Team at 3D Hubs. I’m sorry if you feel we’ve let you down before, we’re very excited to see a new community come to life on 3D Hubs but also offline! We’d love to have your contribution and to organize a meetup together with Hillary in Coventry if you’re up for it?

Hi Camille,

Coventry Makerspace offers the citizens of Coventry the ability to share access of our 3D printers. People can print and get support in our community. We offer the cheapest printing possible as a member and our members get trained in how to 3D print, create objects and consume the communities objects that are open source. All of our member nights are open for every one to experience and we are running regular workshops, a little search on meetup.com will provide details.

In addition to 3D printing our community benefits from CNC machines and a brand new high spec 80w laser.

Hillary has specifically chosen not to join this community and I wish her all the best. I am happy to host a 3D printing event but 3DHubs really needs to pay more attention to its providers and increase the level of communication.

All the best,
Richard

Hi Richard, if you want to do it please by all means do my time table didn’t line up last year with your and you were doing more with coding at the time. I did offer to help with printers. I just put the topic forward to see what people in the area wanted to say. As I was doing a lot of student prints and educating them on best practice over the last month.

Lets get together and had a coffee and see what we can arrange.

When and where are you thinking? I am in the centre of Coventry most days.

I’m pretty new to this but can’t find a suitable printer to purchase that can do life like models price not a problem any suggestions everyone?
