Hi everyone, I hope it’s not wrong to post here as I just registered. I don’t know where should I seek for help or advice regarding 3 printers. My dad had a jewelry bussines and he purchased a while ago 3 printers to grow his bussines but unfortunately he died recently and we couldn’t take the bussines over as we have other kind of activity . I would like to sell his printers or to use them to make money if I find the right partner who knows about this stuff as I don’t .The printers are :
Digital wax 009 J
Digital wax 020 D
Digital wax 028 J+
I know he paid loads of money for them, I’m not sure exactly I have to check to make sure. The printers are in new condition as far as I know he didn’t use them. I would appreciate if someone would give me an advice where I can sell them and how much shall I ask for,or I have any chances to start a bussines and use them.
Thanks in advance.

My Condolences.
It’s hard to put a price on those, not knowing how old these are and how well they have been maintained (service contract ?)
You could choose to sell two and keep one, and use the finances from the two to use as startup capital ?
But if you know nothing about these machines, 3D printing or jewellery design you probably have no use for them, and you are better off selling all three,
maybe the company who sold these printers can make you a good deal.
Or you could setup your own wax 3DHubs account, maybe you can just print objects without having to design or convert them to jewellery
Thanks Marvin. 009 one is from 2015,020 D from 2013,and 028 from 2012.All of them are never used.I don’t know where my dad has them from as we were not in very good relations when he was alive.
What would you advice me to do? I am open to a bussines if you know about this stuff. And how much you think they worth roughly? Thanks

Best is to look online if they are sold second-hand, and contact the original seller:
try to find papers and manuals for those printers, having exact dates and receipts, so you can get the right value for them.
and will probably sell more easy if you have papers
I can’t give you advise what to do, if you have the time and cash to setup shop with these machines, then go for it, but you will need to learn a bit about 3D printing and converting 3D drawings to physical 3d models.
you can do it but it will take some time, most 3D printers are not plug and play
if I lived in London I would probably try to help
Not having paid for the machines you don’t need to recoup lost costs, you could offer wax print for a much cheaper price, so you can setup shop and build up your business.
I think there are a lot of freelance jewellery designers who would love to have cheaper prints made.
Thanks. I will think about that, probably would be difficult for me to start without any knowledge. Will see. Thanks again.

what also maybe an option, is to sell them for a monthly payment scheme,
these printers are very high quality, and usually out of reach for small jewelers, and would it would really help small businesses to invest for a bigger future and give them an opportunity to grow
I would if I could find someone :)))
Dear Alex , You’re being given good advice now you need to be more resourceful I have studied and practiced jewelry making in United States and have not gotten into 3D myself but I do know that you can go to YouTube and find a lot of help for starters and check local Jewelers who might be practicing creating through the 3D process in your area and check universities and search online 4 professional organizations of Jewelers in your area and learned where you can learn this process if you are willing it may take a bit of time but you probably can find someone you can pay to either to you or a class at edit accredited program in the professional field don’t let what you don’t know intimidate you you probably have some of your father’s innate skills and ability to learn that you haven’t tapped into yet and I would admire you trying to see if you can make use of this Legacy he has given you it would behoove you to find out first where you could learn the skills you need and find someone that you can check out and Trust to teach you those in a safe environment you do not mention your age or anything about your background so I don’t know where you’re starting from but I am sure if you I really interested in this you could probably Master it in a decent amount of time to make it worth your while and as I said before the advice you’re getting is sound so far but you have to decide what you want with your life and what you would enjoy doing for a living if you decide to pursue this and I know import experience I have had Hands-On making jewelry that there’s a lot of interesting things to learn for the rest of your life and you don’t have to know it all at once to get started just go on YouTube and learn what casting is about investing and other procedures where you learned to put things into a product eventually that you can visualize there are many options open to you just don’t be in a rush and don’t let somebody fleece you out of what you have been left by your dad my condolences to you and I am sorry to hear you weren’t on good terms at the end but you can you can make it up by using your wits and resources about you to make the most of what he’s done for you I’m sure as a parent and grandparent myself that that would have pleased him best wishes sorry this dictation mode doesn’t tell me how to punctuate and create paragraphs I’m lucky it’s 72 to be even able to use this so I hope this is some help in addition to what you’re already getting just don’t be in a rush learn what you can and then use that information best wishes Peggy in South Carolina USA
