Hey Guys, I want to 3D print shoes. My friends and I want to wear them but we are all different sizes. Is there somewhere online where I can get how wide a size 13 or 12 shoe is, and how long it is?

Thanks.

Hi johnnyo1012, probably the easiest thing to do is either measure a pair you (and/or your friends) already have, or sneak into a shoe store with a measuring device and do it there.

However, if where you are is anything like the UK, you may find that any given size actually varies quite a lot from shoe to shoe, even though they’re supposed to be the same so you may do better to simply stick to measuring owned pairs you know that fit.

Second the variation in sizes! Happens with clothing too; a 9 in one brand is not the same 9 in another.

So, i just googled “how long is a size 12 shoe” ?

I can get that but, I need to know how wide and long.

Do you own a pair of size 12 shoes or can you get (or just hold) some? Do you own a measuring device such as a ruler or tape?

I’m sorry if this sounds flippant, but if you want to know how big something is, when it’s extremely common and easy to find, the simple answer is to find one and measure it.

Yes I own a pair, but I want to make multiple sizes and not have to own them to measure.

Googling “how wide is a shoe size”

Are you trying?

If it’s just for you and your friends (that is, you’re not making an online ordering shop), then the easiest way is really to have your friends send you an outline of their foot (feet). That way you can ignore the whole “sizes” thing and print them something that actually fits their foot, it’d be like the old days of custom-made shoes…
