Hi, we are looking for advice on getting a 3D printer for making a model to have in our showroom. Our website is 4101laclede.com
Any printers our there who would be recommended for this? We could send all of our autocad info for this to the right printer, so we have files to use.
Thanks
Michael

Hi Michael,
Am I correct that you want a 3D printed model of your building, like an architectural model?
It might help if you could provide some further details of your specification
What size and quality of print are you looking for?
Do you require multiple colours?
Is your AutoCad model 3D or just 2D layouts?
Regards
Jamie
Hi Jamie - yes so we would be looking for something like an architectural model. i assume the material would be plastic? Yes multiple colors, we can send our renderings and color codes for you to see (brick, windows, etc in different colors).
Size, I am not exactly sure, something about 2’ by 3’ or so, scaled appropriately?
We have autocad in 2d not 3d.
Thanks, Mike - also, please email me back at mgingrich@atrium-residential.com
Hello Michael,
I run a 3D hub that services the St. Louis area - our website is veloforge.com.
We mainly utilize industrial 3D printers from Markforged and stereolithography printers from Formlabs.
We also have a professional painter on call who paints our SLA models for detailed show pieces, like the one you’re looking for.
I see that you need a 2’ by 3’ model. That is a large project for any 3D printer, but a high quality model is definitely achievable with the right approach.
If you want to send me the AutoCAD files, I can take a look at them and give you an overview and an estimate of what we can do for this project.
My email is andrew@veloforge.com.
