Dear all.
I heve been experiencing issues with a file. My model maker is now not available to help me anymore and it seems according to printers that the file attached is somehow corrupted.
I’ve been told the peak prints with no issues but then printer goes straight to the top of the “dome”
As I have absolutely no clue of what’s wrong, would someone be able to help my case?
Thanks a bucnh.
Walter.

Hey there,
I’m sure @Alexandre_16 could have a look at it and print it for you in Paris.
Or maybe @Alex3DHubs can tell you what’s wrong with the design and refer you to a good tutorial?
Let me know if there’s anything else I can do for you,
Julie
Heya,
Thats a cool model. A little more information on the type of printer you’ve attempted it with would be helpful in diagnosing a problem. At a brief glance, It looks like it would print ok depending on the orientation. I would also recommending thickening the walls a bit. Do you know what 3D printer was used on your first try? And what software was used to slice the model? That could help.
Alex
Hello Walter,
Seems the minimum thickness of your model is in the region of 0.08mm. Given that the average printer has an extruder nozzle around 0.3-0.4mm or around 5 times that thickness, I’m sure you’ll see the problem. The poor little printer was like an elephant trying to put on a pair of kid’s Speedos.
Afraid to say that, if you’re trying to fit the cap onto something specific, you’ll need to have it re-designed somewhat. If not, I’d say that, if you can live with the main part being solid and the peak around 1mm, this design could be re-used, to some extent.
Cheers,
AndyL
ps: Bet you won’t get that mental picture out of your mind in a hurry!
