FYI…after taking out a court case against Eaglemoss, because their appalling customer service department failed spectacularly to rectify any problems, or even answer e-mails, for the faulty printer parts they supplied and subsequent un-usable 3D printer, today they delivered a working printer fully assembled. They still have yet to provide all of the “Binders” I have paid for, but at least I have something working.
However, for the last 6 months I have been running a Da Vinci Junior, which has produced without fail, prints every time and sits next to my desk I my office at home. After the first print from the Vector, my wife has banned it from the house as it sounds, and I quote her direct here, “Like an MRI Scanner”.
If you can afford it, buy a Da Vinci Junior and enjoy creating something.
i had lots of issues too with customer services 6 months later i eventualy got a replacement stepper motor that had failed mot imperssed with printer as noisy and y axis wobbly
Having used CNC equipment for about 30 years now…and remembering having a £100,000 3D Printer about 15 years ago which printed wax in 1mm steps…I wonder if those of us that supported Eaglemoss in their attempt to bring 3D Printing to the masses will look back in years to come and realise that their product was the greatest backwards step in technology since the scrapping of concord and supersonic flight…which generated the same amount of noise as the Vector 3D printer…but at least got you to New York in 3 hours rather than a half finished whistle.
