Job Overview

We are looking for a 3-D print technician to maintain continuous operation of a TAZ-6 printer for a 3-day trade show event. The show is the Star Trek :Mission New York located at Jacob Javitz Center in New York City. Additionally, the technician will be required to operate a remote control to change video content once per day.

Job Description Details

We have designed and produced a show booth for the Smithsonian Channel which is showcasing their new show Building Star Trek, and will be using the printer to print replicas of “phaser” or similar items, which will be given away as part of a raffle several times per day throughout the event. Each model will have about a 6-hour build time. We will produce a surplus of 3-d prints prior to the show, so the contest prize is not directly dependent on the day’s printing output.

The booth is also hosting interviews with several important cast members and experts. During this portion, the trailer content on the video wall will need to be switched to a motion graphic, and returned to the trailer at the end of the interview.
