I what to create a car with movable wheels. How would I make the wheels spins extremely smooth. Would I have a support on either side of the wheel and two washers touching opposite ends of the wheels? I need this as smooth as possible. Any answer helps. Pictures would be a great bonus!
Can you put a bearing, such as a skate bearing, in the wheel design?
How large is the car going to be? I made some wheels for 1/10th scale remote control cars, like for Tamiya etc… Check it out:

The wheels are 10mm diameter and 3mm thickness.
I will see, thanks so much for the idea.
Aha, that’s pretty small. You might want to look into having someone design this for you and print it in Shapeways’ Frosted Extreme Detail material. I’m not sure how to do it with the axles and the hub, but I would advice taking a look at how scale model cars do this.
Another option for an item that small, I assume the axle will be very, very tiny.
Printed in Nylon, it should spin well. Nylon is very smooth and slippery.
Get it printed in FDM, such as 3d hubs, and not the Nylon on Shapeways, which is actually not as smooth. Their SLA process can leave the nylon a little bumpy, in my opinion.
I will actually use a threaded screw as an axle. How smooth would that be against abs?
