So I just started 3D printing and I have a Monoprice Maker Select V2. I am currently printing http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:776322 . I am using Cura 2.4. The infill is set to light but I am looking at the actual print and it looks to be going solid. I printed a fidget spinner before this and it also seems pretty tough.

The difference in time between light and solid for this specific keychain is only 1 minute. Could it just be this model?

Well, the model is too thin, your bottom and top layers are so close or even merged.

To confirm this, your model height must be less or equal to top + bottom wall thickness set in Cura.

that looks quite thin between the solid top and bottom layers which will be solid there may be only 1 or 2 layers of infill.Click on view mode (eye on the left) then layer mode to get a preview of what it is going to do by layer.

Ok, I’ll do a benchy and see how it turns out.
