Hi. My name is Mike and I need to HIRE someone to help me level and calibrate a 3D printer in our middle school on Long Island.
We have a Lulzbot Taz 5 and we are having trouble getting it to work properly, as it still needs to go through the initialization process since we received a new print head. My principal said we would pay whomever helped us fix this.
Our IT people are unable to help us, but they would provide you with an IT aide to help with administrative access for updating software, etc.
If this is withing your skill set and a service you offer or could offer, please contact me. Thank you. Mike
did you follow the setup instructions and how to calibrate the dual nozzles? OHAI: Open Hardware Assembly Instructions

I’m not near NY and don’t know the specifics of the printer, but I can tell you sometimes these things are really difficult. I’m trying to get a printer to print exotic materials for a specific product I’m trying to bring to market, and now it’s not even printing plastic clean.
I had another one that ONLY printed ABS and PLA on and it broke after a few weeks. I’m sending it back to the manufacturer. Getting production value out of a 3d printer is very difficult.
I feel your pain man.
Can you use an business card and try to fit it under the nozzles and see how much pull you get? You want a little pull but not much. You don’t want it to completely slip freely.
That’s my opinion, but what do I know I’m the one that as of now can’t get plastic prints either. Thankfully a brick doesn’t have to be printed perfect.

Hello!
I just found this post, and I also use a Taz 5, have tinkered around with mods and have a good feel for the machine.
Have you had any success in getting yours to work properly? If so, how did you locate and fix the issues you were dealing with?
