Hello friends,

Recently i encounter a problem with my FlashForge Creator Pro printer. I started using my own designs lately and the printer stops at 99%. This problem doesn’t occur when printing files from thingivers or other sites. Also, i’ve printed 2 scans of myself i made (one small, one bigger) at the same time, and the smaller one was printed perfect but it stopped at the last layers of the bigger one (99%). I assume it is a problem with the last part of the code ( i have to say i’m still a rookie at 3d printing). The path i use to print a personal design is: autodesk inventor->autodesk 123D->simplify3d (here i give some commands like: normalize and repair, not sure what are those doing) -> replicator G for printing. The temporal solution i’ve found is to print in the same time a taller object next to what i need to print, so the stopping doesn’t affect my print

First, the rule the bigger chain, the more possibility to have more errors.

  • Try to reduce the program numbers that you are using
  • Check your model and be sure that there is not any open edge
  • Check the same model with Simplify 3d - time line and try to see what nozzle movements are,

I can’t help you without seeing the model you have and actual 3d model. I hope that it helps,

Try a very basic shape like a cube that you make. Export the STL and slice it then print. If that works, then introduce the other steps of your process one by one till you encounter the problem again. It could be the repair command that is causing this but it is only speculation until you go through your process methodically.

Hi Reduce the number of programs you use do your model in Autodesk inventor create the stl file in inventor then slice using simplify 3D ive been doing it this way for 6 years never a problem. To create a stl file in inventor go to save as wait for the sub menu to come up and go to save copy as this will allow you to save a stl file if this is the first time you have done this in inventor you will need to set the units, in the save page go to options and set the units to mm ( it defaults to cm) then save this is a one time set the program will now default to mm. when you use simplify 3D save to the SD card and plug into your Flashforge should work fine.

Hope this helps

Try fixing the model with the netfabb online repair tool.

Thank you so much for help, i will test the design directly with replicator g imported from inventor and that netfab repair tool. Cheers

How do you print? Do you print off a SD-card of from the computer? The serial connection to the Flashforge is known to be not very reliable (no handshake, no error correction) and I have had my share of problems printing from a computer to the Flashforge. After I switched to printing from SD-card all such problems are gone.

Or, if you don’t like the idea of Microsoft ( at all! ) you can download Netfabb and do it on your computer.

after quite a while of researching, i found a so called “solution” very simply, and seems to work good so far. The problem was the SD card that came with the printer. Not a very good quality, but it worked jut fine until that problem appeared. Now after changing the SD card with another things seems to go pretty normal. I did not printed many things but as far as i observed, things are good. But of course, as i expected, i encountered another problem. The sticking problem. I can’t print PLA without raft on this printer anymore and i dont know why. It used to be piece of cake, but now, the first layers doesn’t stick anymore. If you have any solution, i’ll be more than glad to hear it. Cheersw
