Hi Edinburghers,

I just received my e3d BigBox printer and have built it up, so I’m looking for a new home for my 12 month old i3.

It’s upgraded with the 300x200mm (A4 ish) bed and has a sheet of buildtak. You can get some excellent prints with it, and even without a heated bed I was able to print some pretty huge items in PLA with just a little brim.

The BQ extruder/hotend in this printer is excellent and I’ve never had any problems with the nozzle getting clogged. The filament path is pretty well constrained so you can print flexible filaments like ninjaflex (Flip the glass bed over if you plan to do this, as printing ninjaflex onto buildtak is a bad idea). I’ve even managed to print nylon, a liberal application of glue stick on the buildtak helps here.

Hi Alex! Are you willing to partially disassemble it to ship it? I was thinking maybe take off the bed and X axis carriage? I’m looking for another printer for my 3D Hubs orders. Hi Mark,

Sorry, I’m not wanting to mail it if possible as I’m not sure I’d be able to pack it well enough to guarantee that it’d make it to you in good condition. Packaging/mailing/insurance costs plus import duties also probably make this not a great deal in the end for you.
