Thanks I’ll look at the ultimakers, I don’t want the Makerbot Mini because I lose lot’s of printing space.

Where do you get your plastic I found out the Flashforge Dreamer only fits .6 kg spools? I have been buying 1 kg spools.

The only thing that broke was a wire which sheared in the hot-end, but that was because I was fiddling with it too much, not a defect in the machine. Everything else has been running just fine.

I use normal 1 kg spools, but bought a filament holder and keep it next to the printer (Amazon.com)

If the printer runs out of filament during a print, will the print pause until I put new filament in and start again or will it cancel? Also will a .5 kg spool fit on a .6 kg spool holder?

I’d give a plus 1 for ultimaker original plus. I still have an ultimaker original which I have upgraded over the years to the same spec as this. It looks very cheap with the wood, but don’t let that fool you, I have got some great quality prints from it when the settings are nailed down, and it has been in general a very reliable machine, with an excellent balance of speed / quality and build volume.

No printer in your budget amount will detect if it runs out of filament and pause a print, however to address this you can weigh how much filament you have left and use the slicer to determine if you will be able to complete the print with what you have.

It may, but each manufacturer uses efferent dimensions so I can not definitively say it will.

Thanks for all of the help!

No problem!

I would go for a Felix 3.1 do it yourself kit (dual extrusion). Of course you need to have some technical knowlegde to assemble it yourself. I have a Felix 2.0 and love the print quality and upgradability.

What Type of print bed does the printer have? Glass?
