Hey Guys, I was wondering if anyone with a 3D Printer in their house should have a air filter. If so what would be a good filter for a fair price. Would a HEPA filter device from Amazon work for $60-$70?? Any suggestions would be great! Thanks.

Seems like a controversial topic. Some guys who have worked in thermoplastics for decades have no filtration and some people have tons. We do a lot of casting in addition to printing and filament drying so we have enough hepa filtration to double or triple the manufacturer recommendations. Mostly the honeywell units.

Thanks for the reply. Do you think one of these would work for a 3D Printer in a room in a house?

Thanks.

I would look at some of these:

Using fish tank filters and activated charcoal seems to be the way to go.

One printer?

XYZ Da Vinci Jr. and a Flashforge Creator Pro. Usually not running at same time.

It’s bigger than the hepa filter on the Fusion3 F400 so I’d say it works. That little HEPA pushes some decent air we have one for a hard drive clean box. Works great.

What one? Either one I linked above?

Either one.

Thanks for the help, when I get it how do I know if it is working? Collecting the particles?

Thanks, I’ll look in to it.
