As I said quite some time ago, you can contact me via my hub and if you want to, we could agree on a pricing, that is within your requests. I stopped commenting for multiple reasons: (@Gabriela3d @Arnoldas you might want to pay some attention here, as that’s a general development, that I see frequently on talk) So first of all I don’t want to share finalized pricings in public, mostly because the chances, that somebody else comments, just to lower the price by 5€ is VERY realistic. What then goes on is best described by the term “passive rivalry” => nobody is insulting anyone, or talks bad about other hubs, but EVERYONE is willing to commit the last bit of discount possible, in order to get the job. This lowers the value of 3d modeling and 3d printing enormously and leads to the mindset, that customers can select any price they want, knowing, that there are hubs willing to fight for that order. 3d Hubs’ main purpose (to my understanding) is not to make the hubs rich, but at least it should aim to be a safe ordering method, that connects hubs and customers, it should also allow for reasonable prices. The customer should be able to chose and compare hubs and to pick the best for his job, but if the hubs take the action of comparing themselves to one another, then they will lower the prices in order to get the job, that might not even be close to worth the invested time. When this goes on, then lesser and lessee Hubbers will be able to compete with the pricing and will fade away from 3dhubs as it’s no way close to worth it (except for the community aspect of course). This future seems very pessimistic, but its, what I think to be realistic, so I try my very best to avoid this future. Next up I don’t want to be set on a specific price, especially in 3d printing there are insanely many variables to consider, starting at printing material and infill. I don’t want to promise the customer anything, when I can’t be absolutely sure, that I’m capable of accomplishing that goal. If some of those variables aren’t defined yet (like in your case the level of detail), then neither I, nor anyone else, will be able to precisely estimate the time investment and therefore the cost for the service.* Lastly there are some things, that I don’t want to discuss online, just for the sake of protecting privacy. In 99% of the cases there’s nothing that private about these orders, but sometimes a special request requires background information about the 3d printed part’s purpose.I don’t want to force the customer into talking out loud about that purpose. The best example would be, when the customer asks “what material would you recommend” as you might guess there are tons of different applications and so is the choise of material, in that case I’d need background information, otherwise I might sell the customer a highly inflammable ABS print, that he wants to use as cover for a torch. Oh and one last reason: Even though talk is a great place to communicate, I think it’s not the right place to have a 20 comments long conversation about an order. Everyone, that commented to this thread gets an email notification for EACH new comment. If we all would start to have our order conversations via talk threads, then the 3d hubs’ admins phones would light on fire from the frequent email notifications (same goes for people like myself, that are fairly active in this forum). So that’s it for now… I hope you can understand my mindset and argumentation, feel free to have a constructive conversation with me (maybe I should start another thread for this). Cheers, Marius Breuer *the only reason, why I said, that the charge for this model is within your budget for sure is, that I’m a hobby 3d modeler and don’t charge anything, like estimated working hours. I charge, what I think is realistic for this model, it’s up to myself, how fast or easy I can accomplish that. In this case I don’t think, that this model is worth more then your budget of 40€, so the charge would therefore also not exceed your budget. PS: i don’t know, if that was intended or accidentally, but please be so kind to only pay for orders, that are placed through 3d hubs. 3d Hubs has to financiate itself somehow and that’s just possible, if 3dhubs can charge a minor fee to orders, that are placed via 3dhubs (not just anonymous PayPal payments). In exchange 3dhubs gives you this forum and the guarantee, that you receive your model or get the money back, if the hub was failing for any reason. This of course can raise the cost a bit, but it’s worth the safety and should also be done just to credit 3dhubs for making all this possible.
